Reviews for Pak Khyber Shinwari Margalla
Review highlights
Based on 1,290 reviewsPak Khyber Shinwari Margalla is recognized for its authentic Pakhtun-style cuisine, with lamb dishes such as lamb chops, lamb tikka, and lamb karahi frequently praised for their tenderness, juiciness, and flavorful seasoning. The restaurant is appreciated for its generous portions and traditional specialities like Damba Kadhi, appealing to those seeking rich, well-prepared meat dishes. Customers also highlight a spacious and family-friendly atmosphere with ample parking. However, feedback points to occasional inconsistencies in flavor and tenderness across some items, as well as service that, while generally efficient and welcoming, may not always meet expectations compared to similar establishments. Overall, the brand is favored for its genuine taste and pleasant dining environment.
The lamb chops were juicy, tender, and perfectly grilled with just the right amount of smokiness. The seasoning had a nice balance of spice and flavor, making every bite enjoyable. Served hot and fresh, they paired well with the chutney and naan. The portion size was generous, which made it great for sharing. The only thing that could be improved is consistency — some pieces were more flavorful than others. But overall, it was a satisfying and hearty dish that matched the lively roadside dhaba atmosphere. Best enjoyed with raita and fresh salad.
The food at this establishment, particularly the Lamb Karahi & Rosh, is commendable. However, the chicken items, like the Sulemani Chicken Karahi, fell short of expectations, lacking flavor and complexity. Although the ambiance is delightful, the service doesn't quite match other Shinwari Restaurants. Nonetheless, the overall experience is positive, with authentic Pakhtun style cuisine leaving a lasting impression. The scenic view of Margalla hills adds to the charm. Don't miss out on the delightful Kabuli Pulau, and parking space is abundant. Fast service enhances the dining experience.
Overall very good experience. Tried their Lamb Tikka (10/10), very tasty, juicy, soft, very nicely cooked. Lamb Karahi was also good but few piece were not tender. They have huge parking and sitting area. Must try.

Pak Khyber Shinwari Restaurant – Islamabad Near Margalla If you are a fan of traditional and flavorful food, then “Pak Khyber Shinwari Restaurant” is a great choice for you. The atmosphere here is very calm and family friendly. Their Damba Kadhi is very great and famous, which is prepared with fresh meat and special spices. The seating arrangement is also special, where you can enjoy your food sitting on “Charpai” in the traditional way. Ample and secure parking is available, which provides convenience especially for families and groups. The cleanliness of the restaurant is commendable, which shows a good standard. There are also separate halls for families, so that you can spend a peaceful time with your loved ones. The service is normal, but it can be improved if its owners go,
5/5 stars Exceptional dinner experience at Pak Khyber Shinwari Restaurant! We ordered the Lamb Karhahi, tender Lamb Chops, and finished with a perfect cup of tea and coffee. The service was outstanding - polite, attentive, and efficient staff. Cleanliness was also impeccable. The highlight, however, was the Lamb Chops - expertly grilled and packed with flavor! You won't find better elsewhere. Highly recommended! Visit and enjoy!
A Delightful Iftar & Dinner Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My recent Iftar cum dinner here, was a pleasant experience. The food was undeniably good and tasty, a true reflection of authentic Shinwari cuisine. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, they're acceptable for the quality. The service was top-notch – fast and efficient. The atmosphere is decent, though some minor modifications could enhance it further, and the ambiance is okish. The menu offers a good selection, but a bit repetitive. Echoing the sentiments of many, this place offers a wonderful culinary experience. It's a great spot for families, and a worthy alternative to traveling all the way to Peshawar for authentic Shinwari flavors. Must try!
